Best Journey Time

The best time to play golf in the Caribbean is from November to April. Pleasant temperatures between 25 and 30°C, little rain and moderate humidity characterize these months. The rainy season begins between May and June with short downpours. It is quieter on the Caribbean islands, there are fewer tourists and the green fees and hotel prices are cheaper.

The hurricane season starts in July and lasts until October. During this time, the risk of tropical storms is increased in some regions, which can affect travel planning. Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao are outside the hurricane belt. As these islands are less frequently affected by storms, they are also a safe choice for golfers during the hurricane season.

Special Destinations

Combine your golf vacation in the Caribbean with unique excursions. Dunn's River Falls in Jamaica are spectacular cascading waterfalls that can be climbed in Ocho Rios - an absolute nature experience. Saona Island in the Dominican Republic is a paradise island with white sandy beaches, turquoise waters and an impressive underwater world. Another attraction is Altos de Chavón, a picturesque artists' village built in Mediterranean style above the Chavón River - ideal for a relaxing stroll after a game of golf. Harrison's Cave on Barbados is an impressive stalactite cave with underground watercourses and stalactite formations.

Culinary Highlights

Unique taste experiences can be perfectly combined with a golf vacation in the Caribbean. Whether Jamaican jerk chicken - spicy marinated and grilled chicken with the typical jerk spice mix, flying fish & cou-cou from Barbados - the national dish of Barbados with deep-fried fish and a side dish of cornmeal and okra, or juicy rum cake and fruity Caribbean cocktails, the Caribbean offers a colourful mix of African, Creole and European influences, which are also reflected in the cuisine. A culinary paradise awaits after a round of golf!

Arrival & Infrastructure on Site

The Caribbean is easy to reach from Germany. There are numerous direct flights from Frankfurt to Punta Cana, Montego Bay or Barbados as well as connecting flights via Madrid or Paris. Depending on the destination, the flight time is between 9 and 12 hours for direct flights and slightly longer for connecting flights.

The islands have a good infrastructure with airports, ferry connections, car rental and transfer services that make traveling easy. Short-haul flights or ferries are well suited for island hopping, while rental cars or cabs are the best means of transportation on the individual islands.
