Best Journey Time
The best time to play golf in Lisbon is in spring (March to May) and fall (September to November). During these months, the temperatures are pleasant (18-25°C), the courses are in top condition and there are fewer tourists than in summer. Winter (December to February) is also playable as it remains mild (10-18°C), but it can be rainier. Summer (June to August) is often very hot (over 30°C), which makes golfing more strenuous, especially in the afternoon. Those looking for ideal conditions should travel to Lisbon in spring or fall.
Special Destinations
Lisbon, the lively capital of Portugal, impresses with numerous sights that are well worth a visit. The city's most important sights are the Belém Tower, the Castelo de São Jorge, the Padrão dos Descobrimentos, the Praca do Comercio and the statue of Cristo Rei.
The Museu Nacional do Azulejo houses a unique collection of painted tiles. These tiles are called azulejos and can be found all over Lisbon. The Castelo de São Jorge is located on a hill and is well worth seeing and climbing. The Belém Tower, built in 1515, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Convento Jerónimo, which houses the tomb of Vasco da Gama, is particularly worth a visit.
Culinary Highlights
Food plays a central role in Lisbon - from the local food markets to the Michelin-starred restaurants, there is something for everyone. Caldo Verde, a healthy and hearty soup, is a traditional dish you should try.
Portugal is famous for its delicious Pastel de Nata pudding, and the Fábrica dos Pastéis de Belém has the best and most original version of this specialty. As a city by the sea, Lisbon also offers a wide range of fresh fish dishes that you should definitely try.
Lisbon is also known for its excellent white, red and rosé wines. To get to know the variety and quality of Portuguese wines, numerous wine tastings are organized in the region - a must for wine lovers! The regional sour cherry liqueur Ginjinha, which is popular with locals and visitors alike, is another highlight.
Arrival & Infrastructure on Site
There are popular golf courses in the south and west of Lisbon. The city's infrastructure is characterized by a well-developed freeway and rail network as well as good port connections. The city is easy to reach by streetcar, subway, bus and ferry. The characteristic yellow streetcars can be seen everywhere. You can therefore reach Lisbon by plane or train and also travel by car for your next golf trip.
