Best Journey Time

The best time to play golf in Catalonia is spring and fall, i.e. from March to June and September to November. During these months, temperatures are pleasant between 18 and 25 °C and the golf courses are neither too hot nor overcrowded.

In summer it can get very warm, especially in the coastal regions, with temperatures above 30 °C, while winter in the Pyrenees can be cooler. However, it usually remains mild on the coast and inland, so golf is possible all year round. However, those looking for ideal playing conditions should opt for spring or fall.

Special Destinations

In addition to golf, Catalonia offers a variety of impressive excursion destinations. The vibrant metropolis of Barcelona attracts visitors with the Sagrada Família, Park Güell and the La Rambla promenade. On the Costa Brava, picturesque coastal villages such as Cadaqués and the dramatic rocky landscapes of Cap de Creus are a delight.

For nature lovers, the Pyrenees National Park is a paradise for hiking, while the Penedès wine-growing region offers excellent cava tastings. The medieval city of Girona is fascinating with its historic old town and well-preserved city walls. Art lovers should visit the Dalí Museum in Figueres, which provides an insight into the work of the surrealist artist.

Culinary Highlights

Catalan cuisine combines Mediterranean flavors with regional specialties. A classic is pa amb tomàquet, toasted bread with tomato and olive oil. Escudella i Carn d'Olla, a hearty stew, and fideuà, a variation of paella with pasta instead of rice, are also popular.

Seafood such as prawns de Palamós or grilled monkfish are a delight on the coast. Inland, dishes such as botifarra (Catalan sausage) with beans dominate. The famous crema catalana is a tempting dessert. The dishes are accompanied by excellent wines from the Penedès or the strong red wine from Priorat.

Arrival & Infrastructure on Site

Catalonia is easily accessible, especially via Barcelona-El Prat Airport (BCN), which offers numerous international connections. Alternatively, there are smaller airports in Girona (GRO) and Reus (REU), which are particularly interesting for travelers to the Costa Brava or Costa Dorada. Thanks to the well-developed AVE high-speed train, Madrid and other Spanish cities can also be reached quickly.

Locally, Catalonia offers an excellent infrastructure with modern highways and well-connected train and bus services. A rental car is particularly recommended for golfers and exploring the surrounding area. The region has a large number of first-class golf courses, luxurious resorts and excellent gastronomy that perfectly round off a golf vacation.
