Golf course: Druids Heath Golf Course
The golf course
The Druids Heath Golf Course is located in County Wicklow, south of Dublin, and is the second championship course at Druids Glen Resort. It was designed by Pat Ruddy in 2003 and is considered one of the most challenging courses in Ireland. In contrast to the parkland style of Druids Glen, Druids Heath offers a fascinating mix of heathland, parkland and links character with open landscapes, windy fairways and spectacular views of the sea and the Wicklow Mountains.
The course is known for its natural design, characterized by rocks, gorse, heather and rolling hills. Precision is key here, as the fairways are narrow and shots must be well placed to avoid difficult roughs and bunkers. The sea breeze adds an extra challenge to the game, especially on the front nine.
Druids Heath offers a varied and challenging golfing experience that is both scenic and challenging. The course has hosted several championships, including the Irish PGA Championship, and is an ideal destination for golfers looking for variety, nature and a sporting challenge.
