Golf course: Golf Torrequebrada
The golf course
The Torrequebrada golf course on the Costa del Sol is one of the most renowned courses in Spain. The 18-hole, par-72 course was opened in 1976 and designed by architect José "Pepe" Gancedo, also known as Picasso of Golf. Located just 20 minutes from Málaga airport, the course is easily accessible and popular with both local and international players.
The layout follows the natural, hilly terrain and offers views of the Mediterranean Sea and the surrounding mountains. Characteristic features include undulating fairways, generously laid out and undulating greens as well as numerous bunkers and strategically placed water hazards. Over a hundred different tree species line the fairways and give the course a park-like character.
Facilities include a clubhouse with restaurant and panoramic terrace, modern practice facilities, pro store and rental options. The course is considered challenging and combines sporting challenges with a variety of landscapes.
