Golf course: Golfanlage Schloss Lüdersburg Old Course
The golf course
The Old Course at Golfanlage Schloss Lüdersburg is a classic parkland course with a par 73 and a length of around 5,900 meters from the yellow tees. It lies in a spacious, flat landscape with mature trees, rhododendrons, orchards and numerous water hazards. The island green at hole 4 is particularly striking and is considered a highlight that requires strategic play. Overall, the course offers a varied but fair challenge that is suitable for both experienced golfers and players with an average handicap. The greens are generally very well maintained and the course is at its best at different times of the year, for example when the rhododendrons are in bloom. Players benefit from extensive practice facilities such as a large driving range with covered tees as well as putting, chipping and pitching greens. Schloss Lüdersburg itself complements the golfing experience with a hotel, restaurants and other resort facilities.
The course is praised above all for its scenic beauty and good maintenance, while critics sometimes criticize a certain monotony on some holes or disruptions caused by maintenance work. Overall, the Old Course is considered one of the most attractive and traditional courses in northern Germany.
