The golf course

The Annesley Links at Royal County Down Golf Club is an 18-hole course in the classic links style. It is set in a spectacular dune landscape right on the coast, with views of the Irish Sea and the Mourne Mountains. The course is par 66 and measures around 4,548 yards. There are no par-5 holes, but there are six par-3 holes and several shorter par-4s that require a lot of precision. Despite its comparatively short length, it is challenging to play, as narrow fairways, small undulating greens and partially blind shots demand a high level of accuracy. A redesign in 2015 added three new holes that run spectacularly through the dune landscape. The Annesley Links is considered a more accessible and less expensive "sister course" to the Championship Course, but still offers an intense links experience with tactical challenges and scenic beauty.
