Best Journey Time

The best time to play golf on Lanzarote is from October to May. During these months, the temperatures are pleasant at 18 to 25 °C and there is little rain, creating ideal conditions for golfers. In addition, the trade winds are usually milder during this time than in summer, which makes the game easier. The golf courses are also less crowded outside the Christmas and Easter vacations, so you can enjoy a relaxed round. Although you can play golf on Lanzarote all year round, it can get very hot in the summer months at over 30 °C and the wind often blows stronger. Those who play early in the morning can also find good conditions during this time, but overall the months from fall to spring offer the most pleasant climate for a golf vacation.

Special Destinations

In addition to golf, Lanzarote offers impressive excursion destinations. The Timanfaya National Park fascinates with its mountains of fire, while the Jameos del Agua and the Cueva de los Verdes are unique lava caves. From the Mirador del Río you can enjoy a spectacular view of La Graciosa. Art lovers should visit the Fundación César Manrique. The beautiful Papagayo beaches offer relaxation, while Teguise attracts visitors with its historical charm and popular market. Wine lovers can sample the island's special wines in La Geria.

Culinary Highlights

Lanzarote's cuisine is characterized by fresh, regional ingredients and traditional Canarian specialties. Papas arrugadas, small wrinkled potatoes with mojo sauce - either spicy with red mojo or mild with green mojo - are particularly well-known. Fish lovers get their money's worth with fresh Atlantic fish such as vieja, tuna or hake, often served with Canarian vegetables.

Another highlight is goat's cheese, which is produced on the island in various degrees of ripeness and is often served with honey or figs. Meat dishes such as tender conejo en salmorejo (Canarian rabbit in a spicy marinade) or juicy cabrito (kid) are also popular specialties.

Not to be forgotten are the wines from the unique La Geria wine-growing region, especially the Malvasia white wine, which is prized for its fruity aroma. To finish, a bienmesabe, a sweet almond cream that is often served with ice cream or pastries, is well worth trying.

Arrival & Infrastructure on Site

Lanzarote is easily accessible by plane, with regular connections from Europe to César Manrique-Lanzarote Airport (ACE) in Arrecife. From there, well-developed roads lead to all regions of the island. Rental cars are the best choice to remain flexible, as local public transport with buses is reliable but limited.

The infrastructure is modern and geared towards tourism, with a large number of hotels, resorts and vacation apartments. Golfers also benefit from well-located golf courses with excellent facilities. There are also numerous restaurants, shopping centers and leisure facilities, making the island suitable for both relaxed and active vacations.
