Best Journey Time

For golfers, cultural travelers and nature lovers, the months of November to February are particularly recommended, as the landscape is green and the climate remains pleasant. These months are ideal for golf, sightseeing and outdoor activities.

From March to May, temperatures often rise above 35°C, while the period from June to October is characterized by the rainy season, with high humidity and occasional showers. Nevertheless, Chiang Mai remains easy to travel to, as rain usually only lasts for a short time.

Arrival & Infrastructure on Site

Chiang Mai is well connected via Chiang Mai International Airport (CNX) and offers numerous domestic flights as well as international connections to Asia. From the airport, it takes 10-15 minutes by cab or tomb to reach the city center.

The city is connected to Bangkok and other regions by bus and train. The overnight trains and VIP buses from Bangkok to Chiang Mai are popular travel options.

Within the city, songthaews (red shared cabs), tuk-tuks and Grab are the most common means of transportation. Rental scooters are a flexible way to explore, while bicycles are popular for the old town. For trips to the mountains or national parks, private drivers or tours are the best choice.
