Golf course: Penina Golf
The golf course
In the heart of the Penina Hotel & Golf Resort lies the traditional Penina Championship Course - the first 18-hole golf course in Portugal, created by legendary architect Sir Henry Cotton.
The championship course (par 73, around 6,300 meters) is a classic parkland course with wide fairways, strategically placed bunkers and numerous water hazards that require precise and tactical play. Old trees, rolling hills and manicured greens give it a timeless elegance. The course has already hosted the Portuguese Open several times and is one of the most prestigious tournament courses in the country.
In addition to the main course, the Penina Hotel & Golf Resort offers two other 9-hole courses - the Resort Course and the Academy Course - ideal for recreational players and training sessions. A driving range, putting and chipping greens, a renowned golf academy and a stylish clubhouse round off the facilities.
