The golf course

The Vidago Palace Golf Course is located in the north of Portugal, nestled in the magnificent parkland of the traditional Vidago Palace Hotel, not far from Chaves. It is one of the most beautiful and historic golf courses in the country - a place where classic and modern blend harmoniously.

Originally opened in 1936 and designed by the famous architect Mackenzie Ross, the course was completely renovated by Cameron & Powell in 2010 and extended to 18 holes (par 72). The result is an outstanding course that makes optimum use of the natural topography of the terrain while meeting the highest sporting standards.

The course runs through ancient tree-lined avenues, over rolling hills and along natural springs that give the place its unique character. Precision is required as narrow fairways, elevated greens and cleverly placed bunkers make every round exciting.
