Best Journey Time

The best time to travel is between November and March, when temperatures are pleasantly between 20 and 30 °C and outdoor activities are particularly enjoyable. From April to May and in October, temperatures rise to between 30 and 38 °C, so early morning or evening activities are recommended. The summer months from June to September are very hot with over 40 °C and high humidity, which is why air-conditioned attractions such as shopping centers, museums and indoor experiences are preferred.

Special Destinations

One of the most famous sights is the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world, with a breathtaking view. The Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Abu Dhabi impresses with its magnificent architecture. The Louvre Abu Dhabi offers art and culture in a unique setting.

One of the highlights is a desert safari, where visitors drive through the dunes in off-road vehicles, experience camel rides and visit traditional Bedouin camps. The Hatta Dam region is perfect for kayaking tours and hikes. On Sir Bani Yas Island, exotic animals such as giraffes and gazelles can be observed in a wildlife reserve.

Other special excursion destinations include the Museum of the Future, the historic Al Fahidi district, the magnificent Qasr Al Watan Palace and the artificial islands of Palm Jumeirah and The World Islands, which offer exclusive resorts and extraordinary experiences.

Culinary Highlights

Dubai's culinary scene is an exciting mix of traditional Emirati cuisine and top international gastronomy. From authentic street food to luxurious gourmet restaurants, the city offers an enormous variety.

Typical Emirati dishes include al harees (wheat with meat), machbous (spiced rice with lamb or fish) and sweet luqaimat (crispy dough balls with date syrup). Shawarma, falafel and manakish are popular street food classics, while kunafa and baklava are traditional desserts.

Dubai is also a hotspot for fine dining, with restaurants by world-famous chefs such as Gordon Ramsay, Nobu Matsuhisa and Massimo Bottura. Luxury seafood restaurants with freshly grilled hammour or upscale Arabic cuisine in stylish desert resorts are particularly popular.

Arabian coffee (gahwa) with dates or a spicy karak tea, a black tea specialty with cardamom and milk, is often enjoyed at the end of a meal. Whether street food or haute cuisine - Dubai offers a unique culinary experience for every taste.

Arrival & Infrastructure on Site

Dubai's accessibility and infrastructure are first class, making it one of the most accessible destinations in the world.

Dubai is served by Dubai International Airport (DXB), one of the busiest airports in the world, and the new Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC). Airlines such as Emirates, Etihad and FlyDubai offer numerous direct flights from Europe, which take around 6 to 7 hours.

Within the city, a modern transportation system makes getting around easy. The Dubai Metro is a fast and affordable option for inner-city transportation, while cabs and ride-hailing apps such as Careem and Uber are widely available. Rental cars are also a convenient option, especially for trips outside the city.

The well-developed highway network connects Dubai with the other emirates, making day trips to Abu Dhabi, Sharjah or the desert easy. While public transport is modern, it is used less than in European cities, which is why many visitors rely on cabs or private transport services.
