Best Journey Time
The best time to travel to Poland for a golf vacation is from May to October. During these months, temperatures range from mild to warm, the courses are well maintained and nature is in its full glory. Spring and fall in particular offer ideal conditions with a pleasant climate and fewer crowds. Midsummer is the warmest, but also busier. The winter months, on the other hand, are usually too cool and damp for golf.
Special Destinations
The Drawa National Park is a special excursion destination close to many Polish golf courses - such as the Modry Las Golf Resort. It is located not far from Choszczno in West Pomerania and impresses with its pristine nature, clear rivers, dense forests and abundant wildlife. A kayak tour on the Drawa, one of the most beautiful rivers in Poland, which meanders quietly through the landscape, is particularly popular.
For those interested in culture, a trip to historic Szczecin with its castle of the Pomeranian Dukes, maritime flair and many cafés is well worthwhile. The Amber Route along the Baltic coast or a day trip to Poznań with its lively old town also offer attractive experiences away from the golf course.
Culinary Highlights
Poland offers a varied and down-to-earth cuisine that makes for enjoyable breaks on golf trips. Culinary highlights include pierogi - filled dumplings with meat, cheese, mushrooms or fruit - and bigos, a hearty stew made from sauerkraut, meat and spices.
Zurek, a sour flour soup with sausage and egg, is also typically Polish and particularly popular after a long day of golf. In the western regions such as Pomerania, fresh freshwater fish, game dishes and regional mushroom variations are also on the menu.
This is often accompanied by homemade stewed fruit drinks, Polish beer or a fine vodka - with a rustic, refined or surprisingly modern interpretation, depending on your preference.
Arrival & Infrastructure on Site
The journey to Poland is uncomplicated, especially for golf travelers from Germany, Austria or Switzerland. Many regions - including West Pomerania with the Modry Las Golf Resort - are easily accessible both by car and by plane. Airports such as Szczecin, Poznan or Gdansk offer regular connections and are often only one to two hours away from the golf courses.
The local infrastructure is well developed. The road network is modernized, hotels and resorts cater to international guests, and you can also find well-kept accommodation and restaurants away from the major cities. Golf courses such as Modry Las also offer comfortable accommodation, clubhouses, rental services and often multilingual staff - ideal for a smooth stay with a high level of comfort.
