Best Journey Time

The climate in Switzerland is diverse and varies depending on the region and altitude. South of the Alps in particular, the climate is pleasantly Mediterranean and invites you to enjoy a relaxing round of golf. Most golf courses in Switzerland are usually open from May to October, making these months the ideal time for golfers to travel. However, there are also some golf courses that are playable all year round, allowing for flexible planning.

In order to make a golf vacation in Switzerland as affordable as possible, it is advisable to book your trip early. Many providers offer early booking discounts, which can help to reduce costs. Alternatively, it is worth keeping an eye on last-minute offers, which often offer attractive prices for those who decide spontaneously. With early planning and an eye for bargains, nothing stands in the way of an unforgettable golf vacation in Switzerland.

Special Destinations

A trip to the Matterhorn makes a welcome change from golf training. The 4,478-metre-high, pyramid-shaped mountain is the symbol of Switzerland. For those who don't want to climb to the summit, take the cable car to the Klein Matterhorn opposite, from where you can enjoy a breathtakingly beautiful view of the Matterhorn.

The Château de Chillon, a medieval moated castle on a rocky island, awaits you on Lake Geneva. The inner courtyards of the castle are regularly the venue for various events and invite you to linger.

The city of Zurich is worth a visit all year round. Here, pleasant city life and impressive nature come together harmoniously. For singles travelers, the lively nightlife of this well-known Swiss metropolis could also be particularly interesting.

Culinary Highlights

Although Switzerland is a small country, it is a paradise for gourmets and impresses with a remarkable density of Michelin-starred restaurants. Culinary excellence has a high priority here, and this is also reflected in the annual awards from the renowned Michelin Guide. In 2020 alone, two restaurants were newly awarded two stars: one in Le Noirmont, which impresses with its innovative cuisine, and one in Bad Ragaz, which masterfully combines tradition and modernity.

Switzerland also has a lot to offer at the highest level, the 3-star restaurants. These can be found in Crissier, known for its elegant French cuisine, in Fürstenau, which stands out above all for its attention to detail and regional ingredients, and in Basel, where experimental dishes meet the highest level of craftsmanship.

In addition to fine dining, you should not miss the traditional Swiss specialties that have made the country famous. The chocolate, from creamy pralines to melt-in-the-mouth bars, is renowned worldwide for its quality. Equally impressive is the variety of cheeses, from mild to spicy, which culminate in dishes such as fondue or raclette.

Whether in a Michelin-starred restaurant or with a classic Swiss dish - Switzerland offers culinary experiences that are just as diverse as its landscapes.

Arrival & Infrastructure on Site

For a comfortable journey by plane, there are international airports in Bern, Basel, Geneva and Zurich. Thanks to its central location in Europe, Switzerland is also easy to reach by train. Numerous international train connections make traveling particularly convenient.

By car, Switzerland is easy to reach from Germany via the A5 highway towards Basel. Alternatively, the Schaffhausen and Lindau border crossings can be used. A toll sticker, which is valid for one year, is required to use the Swiss highways. It should be noted that strict speed limits apply on country roads and freeways and must be adhered to.

Another way to reach Switzerland is by intercity bus, which offers numerous connections. However, long-distance coaches hardly play a role within the country, as Switzerland has an excellent rail network that enables fast and convenient travel between cities and regions.
