Golf course: Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club
The golf course
The Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club is one of the most famous golf courses in Switzerland and is located at an altitude of around 1,500 meters in the vacation resort of Crans-Montana. The course comprises a total of 27 holes, spread over the internationally renowned 18-hole Severiano Ballesteros Course (par 72) and the 9-hole Jack Nicklaus Course (par 35).
The Ballesteros course is considered challenging, with a length of over 6,000 meters, narrow fairways, fast greens and strategically placed bunkers as well as several water hazards. It regularly hosts the Omega European Masters, a traditional tournament on the DP World Tour.
The terrain is characterized by an alpine, slightly hilly character with differences in altitude and spectacular views of the Valais Alps panorama as far as the Matterhorn and Mont Blanc. Numerous water hazards and the topographical conditions present golfers of all abilities with a variety of challenges.
The 9-hole Nicklaus Course offers shorter holes, but is just as varied and is ideal for training, a more compact round or players with less time.
Practice facilities such as a driving range, putting and pitching greens as well as a pro store and catering facilities complete the offer.
