The golf course

The Lee Valley Golf & Country Club is located in Clashanure, Ovens, about 15 minutes west of Cork City in Ireland. The 18-hole championship course was designed by renowned Ryder Cup player Christy O'Connor Jnr in 1993. It is one of the best parkland golf courses in Ireland and has been included in the country's Top 100 several times. The course is attractive to both recreational and tournament players and offers a challenging golfing experience in a picturesque setting.

The golf course is a classic parkland course with a length of around 6,725 yards (6,150 meters) and a par of 72. The hilly landscape, numerous doglegs and seven holes with water hazards make every round varied. Particularly noteworthy is the 12th hole, a par 3 over 179 yards, where the ball has to be played over a water hazard. The greens are considered to be particularly well maintained and are among the best in the Munster region.
